SOAP Fault Parser

Extract fault code, reason, actor, role, and detail from SOAP 1.1 and 1.2 fault responses in the browser.

O M T

Read SOAP fault code, reason, and detail

When a SOAP endpoint rejects a request, the response body often contains a Fault element instead of a normal operation result. SOAP 1.1 exposes faultcode, faultstring, faultactor, and detail. SOAP 1.2 nests values under Code, Reason, Node, Role, and Detail.

Paste a fault response XML document to extract human-readable fields and the raw detail subtree. Use this during integration debugging alongside the SOAP Formatter and SOAP Envelope Builder when crafting retry requests.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the parser validate XML signatures?

No. It only parses structure and text. Signature verification requires certificates and canonical XML rules outside this tool.

What if my fault uses non-standard prefixes?

The parser checks both SOAP 1.1 and 1.2 namespace URIs and falls back to local element names such as faultstring when namespaces are missing.

Is fault XML uploaded anywhere?

Parsing happens locally in your browser; responses are not transmitted to our servers.
