Water Bill Calculator
Estimate monthly water cost from gallons or liters with flat or tiered rates.
Estimate your monthly water bill from usage
Enter how much water you use per day or per month, choose gallons or liters, and match your utility rate structure. The calculator converts daily use to an average month, applies either a flat price per gallon or stepped tier rates, and adds any fixed service charge so you can budget before the statement arrives.
How tiered water rates work
Many municipalities charge lower rates for the first block of gallons and higher rates as usage climbs. Enter the gallon cap for tier one and tier two, plus the price per gallon in each bracket. Usage above the second cap is billed at the tier three rate. If your bill uses a single volumetric charge, switch to single rate mode instead.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is daily usage converted to a monthly bill?
Daily gallons or liters are multiplied by 30.437, the average length of a month, to estimate monthly volume before rates are applied.
Can I enter monthly usage directly?
Yes. Choose per month as the usage period and enter the total volume from your meter or utility portal.
Why are tier limits entered in gallons?
US rate tables are usually published per gallon. If you track liters, the tool still converts your usage correctly before applying the gallon-based tiers.
Does this include sewer or wastewater charges?
No. This estimate covers water volume and any fixed service fee you enter. Sewer fees are often a separate line item on the bill.
What is typical household water use?
Many US homes use roughly 250 to 350 gallons per day, or about 7,500 to 10,500 gallons per month, depending on lawn irrigation and household size.
