How the Pizza Comparison Calculator Works

Enter the diameter, count, and price for a small-pizza order and a large-pizza order. The calculator totals area and price for each side, then compares cost per square inch and the percentage difference. Related tools: Pizza Size Calculator and Perfect Pizza Calculator.

Comparing Orders, Not Single Pies

This tool is built for the classic question: should I buy several medium pizzas or fewer large ones? It multiplies single-pizza area and price by the number of pies in each order.

Reading the Savings

The percentage difference shows how much more or less you pay per square inch on one order versus the other. The lower cost per square inch is the better value for the same amount of pizza surface.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I order 3 medium or 2 large pizzas?

Enter both options with real menu prices. The calculator compares total area and cost per square inch so you can see which order gives more pizza for the money.

How is total area calculated?

Each pizza area is pi times radius squared, then multiplied by the number of pizzas in that order.

What does the price difference percentage mean?

It is the percent change in cost per square inch between the large and small orders, based on the small order as the reference.

Do toppings affect the comparison?

This calculator compares size and price only. Extra toppings or specialty pies can change real-world value beyond area alone.

Can I compare different sizes than small and large?

Yes. Use the fields as order A and order B. The labels are generic even though defaults use common small and large sizes.
