Faster Cooling Options

Best Serving Temperatures

Sparkling wine and beer are often best around 6-10 °C. Juices sit near 12-15 °C. Room-temperature red wine is usually served around 15-18 °C. Water for hydration is often enjoyed near 16 °C.

Larger bottles hold more thermal mass, so they take longer to cool. Surface area also changes how quickly heat leaves the drink.

Can I put beer in the freezer?

Short bursts work, but carbonated cans and bottles can burst if forgotten. Set a timer and use an ice bath if you need speed with less risk.

Is the result exact?

No. It is an estimate based on typical heat transfer values. Actual time varies with fridge load, bottle material, and starting placement.

What if my drink is already cold?

If the starting temperature is already at or below the target, the calculator returns zero additional cooling time.
