SAML Attribute Mapper
Paste SAML XML and map IdP attribute names to app claim keys with a simple mapping table. Outputs JSON claims in the browser.
Map SAML attributes to application claims
During SAML single sign-on, the identity provider (IdP) sends an XML assertion that includes an
AttributeStatement with claim-like values (email, groups, department, and custom URIs).
Your application often expects different property names than the IdP uses, for example
givenName in SAML mapped to firstName in your user profile.
Paste a SAML response or assertion, then define one mapping per line as
appClaim=attributeName. The tool extracts attribute values in the browser and outputs a
JSON object you can compare with your SP middleware mapping rules. Related:

Mapping file format
- One rule per line:
claimKey=samlAttributeName(colon separators are also accepted). - Lines starting with
#are ignored. - Multi-value attributes become JSON arrays; single values stay strings.
- Use
NameIDas the SAML name to map the subject identifier.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this validate signatures or trust the IdP?
No. It only parses XML and applies your mapping table. Signature validation and trust belong in your SAML library or gateway.
Can I paste a full SAML Response?
Yes. The mapper searches for Attribute elements inside the document, including nested
assertions within a Response.
Is my SAML XML uploaded?
No. Parsing runs locally with the browser DOM parser.
