Understanding the Adjustments
Brightness
Controls overall lightness. 100% is original. Increase for brighter images, decrease for darker. Range: 0-200%.
Contrast
Adjusts the difference between light and dark areas. Higher contrast creates more dramatic images with deeper blacks and brighter whites.
Saturation
Controls color intensity. 0% yields grayscale, 100% is original, and 200% is highly vibrant. Great for making colors pop.
Sharpen
Enhances edge definition for crisper details. Use moderately -- too much sharpening can create artifacts. Uses a convolution kernel applied via the HTML5 Canvas API.
Temperature
Shifts colors warmer (positive values, yellow/orange tones) or cooler (negative values, blue tones). Perfect for correcting white balance and setting mood.
Available Preset Filters
- Vivid: Enhanced colors and contrast for a lively, punchy look
- B&W: Classic black and white conversion
- Vintage: Warm sepia tones with subtle fading for a retro feel
- Cool: Blue-tinted cool tones for a crisp wintry atmosphere
- Warm: Golden warm tones for a cozy sunset effect
- Cinematic: Dramatic film look with enhanced contrast and sharpness

Frequently Asked Questions
Is my image data secure when using this tool?
Yes, absolutely. All processing happens in your browser using JavaScript and CSS filters. Your images never leave your device -- they are not uploaded to any server. This ensures complete privacy and security.
Can I undo my changes?
Yes! Click the Reset button to restore all adjustments to their default values. You can also manually adjust any slider back to its original position, or select the "None" preset to reset all filters at once.
Why might sharpen processing be slow?
Sharpening requires pixel-by-pixel convolution processing using the Canvas API, which is computationally intensive. For very large images, this may take a moment. The other adjustments (brightness, contrast, saturation, temperature) use optimized CSS filters and are instant.
What preset filters are available?
Six preset filters are available: Vivid (enhanced colors and contrast), B&W (classic black and white), Vintage (warm sepia tones), Cool (blue-tinted cool tones), Warm (golden warm tones), and Cinematic (dramatic film look). Each preset automatically adjusts brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness, and temperature to achieve its distinctive look.
What output format does the tool produce?
The enhanced image is exported as a high-quality PNG file to preserve quality and support transparency. This ensures no compression artifacts are introduced during the enhancement process.
