What Is the Images to PDF Converter?

This tool turns a set of photos or scanned pages into a single PDF document. You add JPG, PNG, or WebP images, arrange them in the order you want, choose a page size, orientation, and margin, and download the finished PDF. Everything happens in your browser with the pdf-lib library, so no image is ever uploaded to a server.

Common Uses

  • Digitizing documents. Photograph pages, receipts, or forms with your phone and combine them into one tidy PDF.
  • Photo portfolios. Deliver a client gallery as a single PDF that keeps a fixed page order.
  • Expense reports. Turn a folder of receipt photos into one attachment instead of a dozen files.
  • Study notes. Combine handwritten notes, whiteboard photos, and screenshots into a single study document.
  • Listings and presentations. Assemble property photos, menu pages, or product shots into a shareable document.

How to Use the Converter

  1. Select one or more images. You can add more at any time and the list updates instantly.
  2. Use the up and down arrows on each item to set the page order, and the trash icon to remove an image.
  3. Choose a page size: Auto fits each page to its image, or use A4 or Letter for standard paper sizes.
  4. Pick an orientation. Auto keeps portrait images on portrait pages and switches to landscape when the image is wider than tall.
  5. Set a margin, then click Create PDF and download the result.

Page Size, Orientation, and Margin

Auto page size gives every image a page that matches its exact dimensions, which is ideal for photo collections where you do not want white borders. A4 and Letter are the right choice when the PDF will be printed or when pages should share one uniform size. Because images are scaled to fit the content area while preserving their aspect ratio, nothing is stretched or cropped. If you change any setting after creating the PDF, the tool marks the previous result as out of date so you always know when to generate it again.

How the Conversion Works

Each image is decoded locally and embedded into the PDF at full resolution. JPG and PNG data is placed directly into the document without recompression, so quality is preserved exactly. Other formats such as WebP or GIF are drawn to a canvas and converted to high quality JPEG before embedding. Pages are measured in PDF points, and the image is centered inside the margins you selected. The finished document is assembled with pdf-lib and saved as a downloadable PDF blob.

Privacy

No server receives your images. Loading, reordering, conversion, and PDF generation all run in your browser, and object URLs are cleaned up when you remove an image or reset the tool. This makes it safe to convert medical records, financial statements, ID documents, and private photos, and the tool keeps working offline after the page loads.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which image formats can I convert?

JPG and PNG images are embedded directly without recompression. WebP, GIF, BMP, and other browser-friendly formats are converted to high quality JPEG during conversion. HEIC support depends on your browser.

Is there a limit on the number of images?

There is no fixed limit, but very large documents use more memory because every image is embedded at full resolution. Converting 20 to 50 photos typically works smoothly on a modern device.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. All processing happens locally in your browser with pdf-lib. Nothing is transmitted, stored, or logged.

Can I change the page order after adding images?

Yes. Use the arrow buttons next to each image to move it up or down the list. The PDF is generated in list order, with the first item becoming page one.

Why does the PDF look smaller than my original photos?

With a fixed page size like A4, images are scaled to fit inside the margins while keeping their aspect ratio. Choose Auto page size to give every image a page that matches its full dimensions.

Does the tool work offline?

Yes. Once the page is loaded, everything runs locally and the converter works without an internet connection.

Can I compress the finished PDF?

Yes. Use the PDF Compressor after downloading to reduce the file size, or resize and compress the images first for the smallest possible document.
