Football Calorie Calculator

The Football Calorie Calculator estimates how many calories you consume while watching football matches with beer, popcorn, and pizza — and how long it takes to burn off the surplus.

Energy Balance

Energy balance = energy intake − energy burned. Intake adds up snacks and drinks per game multiplied by matches watched. Energy burned while watching uses the MET formula with 1.5 hours per match at MET 1.5.

Weight Change and Burn-Off Time

Divide the calorie surplus by 7700 to estimate weight gain in kilograms. Choose a fat-burning activity — casual football, running, or biking — to see how long you need to exercise to offset the extra calories.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many calories do I burn watching football?

Watching TV for 1.5 hours burns roughly T × 60 × 1.5 × 3.5 × weight / 200 calories per match, where weight is in kilograms.

How much weight can I gain from snacks?

Every 7700 surplus calories equals about 1 kg of body fat. Two beers and a large popcorn per game over seven matches can add more than 1 kg.

What activities burn the most calories?

Running (MET 7.5) and biking (MET 8.0) burn more calories per hour than casual football (MET 7.0). The calculator shows burn-off time for your chosen activity.
