What Is the DUDIT?
The Drug Use Disorders Identification Test (DUDIT) is an 11-item screening tool for non-alcohol drug use patterns over the past year. It complements alcohol screens such as the AUDIT-C Calculator and full AUDIT Test Calculator.
Scoring
Questions 1 through 9 use a 0 to 4 frequency scale. Questions 10 and 11 score 0, 2, or 4 depending on whether harm or concern occurred, and when. Total scores range from 0 to 44.
Interpretation
Scores of 0 to 1 suggest no drug-related problems. Men scoring 6 or more and women scoring 2 or more may have harmful use. Scores of 25 or higher suggest possible dependence. Positive screens warrant professional follow-up, not self-diagnosis.
