Bracket Quote Balance Checker
Verify parentheses, brackets, braces, and quote pairs are balanced with line and column error pointers.
Validate brackets and quotes in code or prose
A single missing ) or stray quote can break JSON, templates, or SQL strings.
Paste any snippet and get an immediate balanced / unbalanced verdict with
line and column pointers for the first problem. Use bracket checking for
()[]{}<> and optional quote checking for double quotes, single quotes,
and backticks (with basic backslash escaping).
When to use this checker
- Sanity-check config fragments before deployment.
- Debug templating languages where editors do not highlight mismatched delimiters.
- Verify pasted API examples still contain balanced JSON delimiters.
For full structural JSON validation, use JSON Validator. To compare two versions of a file, try Diff Viewer.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are nested brackets supported?
Yes. A stack tracks openers in order, so deeply nested structures like
(([{}])) validate correctly.
How are quotes toggled?
The same quote character opens and closes a span. Escaped characters after a
backslash are skipped so \" does not prematurely end a string.
Does this parse programming languages fully?
No. It is a lightweight delimiter checker, not a compiler. Comments or string rules specific to a language may differ; use language-aware linters when available.
