Bishop Score Calculator
Calculate Bishop score from cervical dilation, effacement, consistency, fetal station, and head position to assess labor induction readiness.
What Is the Bishop Score?
The Bishop score evaluates cervical readiness for labor induction. It combines dilation, effacement, consistency, fetal station, and head position into a single score from 0 to 13. A higher score suggests the cervix is more favorable for induction. Related tools: Adjusted Age Calculator and Baby Percentile Calculator.
Scoring Criteria
Each component is scored independently. Dilation and effacement each contribute up to 3 points. Consistency contributes up to 2 points. Fetal station contributes up to 3 points. Head position contributes up to 2 points.
Interpretation
A score of 8 or higher is generally favorable for induction. A score of 7 is borderline. A score of 6 or lower is unfavorable and may warrant cervical ripening before induction.
