Air Force Physical Fitness Test

The Air Force PT test combines body composition (abdominal circumference), push-ups, sit-ups, and a 1.5-mile run into a composite score out of 100. This calculator uses a simplified approximation of official scoring tables by age and sex. It is useful for training estimates, not official records.

Component Weights

Body composition is worth up to 20 points, push-ups up to 10, sit-ups up to 10, and the run up to 60. A composite of 75 or higher passes. Excellent is 90 or above; satisfactory is 75 to 89.9.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this official Air Force scoring?

No. This tool uses simplified breakpoint tables inspired by published standards. Always verify with your unit fitness coordinator.

What score is needed to pass?

A composite of 75 or higher is considered passing in this simplified model.

How is body composition scored?

Lower abdominal circumference earns more points, with limits that vary by age and sex.

How do I enter the 1.5-mile run?

Use mm:ss format, for example 10:30 for ten minutes thirty seconds.

Why does age group matter?

Standards typically relax slightly for older airmen. Select the bracket that matches your age.
