The Age in Seconds Calculator is the most granular of the age tools, and it is the only one that refreshes every single second while the page stays open.

How the Calculation Works

The tool records the difference between the current moment and your birth moment, then divides by the 1,000 milliseconds in one second:

$$S = \left\lfloor \frac{t_{\text{now}} - t_{\text{birth}}}{1{,}000} \right\rfloor$$

With a live reference, the total rises by one every second. The count follows the standard convention of 86,400 seconds per day and ignores leap seconds.

Worked Example

Take January 1, 2000 as the birth date. At the same hour on January 1, 2021, 21 complete years have passed, which is 7,671 days. Multiplying by 86,400 seconds per day gives 662,774,400 seconds, and the final day adds 86,399:

$$S = 7{,}671 \times 86{,}400 + 86{,}399 = 662{,}860{,}799 \text{ seconds}$$
