Text Frequency Filter

Keep or drop lines based on how often words appear in your text, with min/max frequency thresholds.

O M T

Filter log lines by how often words appear

When you paste server logs or chat transcripts, noisy rare tokens and repeated error keywords behave differently. This tool counts word frequencies across the entire input, then keeps only lines where at least one word (or every word, your choice) falls inside a minimum and maximum frequency band.

Example workflow

  1. Paste multi-line text such as application logs.
  2. Set minimum frequency to 2 to focus on words that repeat.
  3. Choose any word matches to keep lines that mention a hot keyword.
  4. Copy the filtered lines into a ticket or spreadsheet.

For character and word totals without filtering, open Character Word Counter. To compare two versions of a file, use File Diff.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are words tokenized?

Words are sequences of letters, numbers, apostrophes, underscores, and hyphens bounded by Unicode word edges. Punctuation attached without spaces may affect tokens.

What is the difference between any and all match modes?

Any keeps a line when at least one word on that line has a frequency inside your range. All requires every word on the line to satisfy the range, which is stricter for short lines.

Are blank lines included?

Empty lines are skipped because they contain no words to evaluate.
