What a Quotation Format Is

A quotation format is a price offer you send before the work starts: your business, the customer, the line items, GST if you charge it, and a total in figures and in words. This page opens with a filled example for an interior studio, and it includes a blank quotation you can print. It is a quote, not a tax invoice.

The quotation is built in your browser. Customer names, rates, and GSTINs are not uploaded.

How to Fill the Quotation Format

1. Start from the example or a blank quotation.
2. Replace the business, customer, number, and dates. Each field has a short note about what belongs there.
3. Add a line for every item with a description, quantity, unit, and rate. Add an HSN or SAC code when GST is on.
4. Choose no GST, same-state GST (CGST and SGST), or other-state GST (IGST), then set the rate.
5. Write the payment and delivery terms, then print the quotation or download a PDF.

GST on a Quotation

Same-state supplies usually show CGST and SGST, each half of the GST rate. Supplies to another state show IGST. Common rates are 5%, 12%, 18%, and 28%. Confirm the rate and the HSN or SAC code before you send a real quote. The sample GSTIN only shows the 15-character shape. It is not a registered number.

Quotation Format or Invoice

Send this quotation format when the customer has not accepted the price yet. After they accept, raise the bill with the Invoice Generator or a purchase document with the Purchase Order Generator. Put the same business name on a Letterhead Generator page if you want the quote on branded paper.
