Create an iMessage Conversation Mockup

iMessage Chat Generator creates a conversation image for presentations, fictional stories, onboarding examples and interface designs. Write both sides of the exchange, customize the contact name and avatar, and see every change in a live preview. Download the finished conversation as a PNG, or copy the image in browsers that support image clipboard access.

The preview uses a light interface with blue outgoing iMessage bubbles and gray incoming bubbles. SMS mode switches outgoing messages to green and updates the default chat label and input placeholder. The output is a visual mockup; it does not send messages or connect to an Apple account.

How to Make a Chat Image

  1. Enter a fictional contact name and the time to show in the status bar.
  2. Optionally upload a JPG, PNG or WebP avatar up to 5 MB.
  3. Choose iMessage or SMS and customize the chat type label and input placeholder.
  4. Edit each message, choose its sender and optionally add a date separator.
  5. Add or remove messages as needed. Toggle the Delivered label to suit the scene.
  6. Inspect the preview and choose Download PNG. Copy image is available when supported by your browser.

Blue and Green Message Bubbles

In Apple's messaging interface, blue bubbles identify iMessage exchanges and green bubbles identify other message delivery types. This generator provides an iMessage preset and an SMS preset so the visual language matches your design. Choosing a mode also updates the two default labels. You can edit the labels afterward, including translating them for a localized presentation.

The generated layout is an approximation of a messaging interface. It does not reproduce every detail of a particular iOS version and cannot verify delivery, device ownership or message authenticity.

Build a Readable Conversation

A short exchange is easier to read on a slide or mobile screen. For example, a museum visit scenario might show a question about tickets, a meeting time and a confirmation. Use a date separator on the first message in a group, then leave subsequent separators blank. Short paragraphs and line breaks keep long bubbles from dominating the image.

You can add up to 30 messages with up to 1,000 characters per message. Empty messages remain editable but do not create blank bubbles in the preview. Removing a message updates the image immediately. Reset mockup restores the original sample conversation, contact details and iMessage styling.

Export and Privacy

The export includes the conversation panel rather than the editor controls. PNG output is rendered at twice the panel's displayed resolution for sharper text. The panel fits smaller screens, so the export width follows the displayed preview. Long conversations produce taller images.

Text and avatars are processed in your browser and are not saved into a shareable URL. Reloading the page restores the sample. Image clipboard support varies by browser and may require permission; PNG download is available as an alternative.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this tool send real iMessages?

No. It creates a static conversation image in your browser and does not connect to Messages or any account.

Can I change both sides of the chat?

Yes. Each message has a sender selector and editable text. Choose the contact for an incoming bubble or You for an outgoing bubble.

How do I switch to green SMS bubbles?

Choose SMS under Message type. The outgoing bubbles become green and the default labels switch to SMS wording.

Are my messages or profile pictures stored?

No. This tool keeps the mockup in the current browser page. Download the image before refreshing if you want to keep it.

Why is Copy image unavailable?

Your browser may not support image clipboard writing. Download PNG works without that clipboard feature.
