YAML to CSV Converter
Turn YAML arrays of objects into spreadsheet-ready CSV with flattening, delimiters, and a live table preview.
Convert YAML lists to CSV for spreadsheets
This YAML to CSV Converter parses YAML in your browser, flattens nested objects with
dot notation, and exports comma-separated (or tab/pipe/semicolon) text you can open in Excel or Google
Sheets. A live table preview shows row and column counts before you copy or download. Arrays of objects
become one CSV row per object; nested fields become columns like address.city.
Expected YAML shape
The converter works best on a YAML sequence of mappings (a list of records). A single mapping is treated as one row. Scalar-only YAML is converted to a two-column key/value layout when possible.
For JSON arrays, use the JSON Array to CSV Converter. For YAML to JSON or XML in one place, see the YAML to JSON/XML/CSV Converter.
Frequently Asked Questions
How are nested YAML objects handled?
Keys are joined with dots, so user: { name: Ada } becomes a column user.name. Arrays inside values are JSON-stringified in the cell.
Can I change the delimiter?
Yes. Choose comma, semicolon, tab, or pipe. European Excel locales often expect semicolon-separated files.
Is my YAML uploaded?
No. Parsing uses js-yaml locally. Data never leaves your browser.
What YAML version is supported?
The parser follows YAML 1.2 semantics as implemented by js-yaml, including common anchors and multi-line strings.
