What a vCard Generator Does

A vCard generator turns a name, phone numbers, email addresses, and an address into a .vcf contact file. Phones and mail apps import that file as a contact. This page opens with a filled example and can be cleared to a blank card. The download is vCard 3.0, which both iPhone and Android contacts accept.

The file is created in your browser. The contact is not uploaded and no account is required.

How to Create a vCard

  1. Load the example or start blank.
  2. Enter the name, organization, phones, emails, website, and address. Notes under the fields explain the format each one needs.
  3. Check the preview. Commas, semicolons, and line breaks are escaped so they do not break the file.
  4. Download the .vcf file and open it on a phone, or copy the text.

Make a QR Code from the Same Card

Copy the vCard text and paste it into the QR Code Generator if you want a code people can scan. For a designed card instead of a contact file, use the Business Card Maker or the Email Signature Generator.

What Goes in Each Field

  • Name: the file stores the family name first so contacts sort correctly. The name people see stays First Last.
  • Phone: include the country code, such as +1 or +91, so the number still dials after import.
  • Website: a domain without https:// is saved with that prefix.
  • Address: street, city, region, postal code, and country become one work address in the file.

Frequently Asked Questions

What file does the vCard generator download?

A .vcf file in vCard 3.0. Open it from the phone’s contacts app or from a computer address book to add the person.

Can I start from a blank contact?

Yes. Start blank clears the sample name, phones, and address. Load example brings the sample contact back.

Why does the preview show N and FN?

N is the structured name (family name, then given name). FN is the formatted name people read. Both are part of a valid vCard, even when some other fields are empty.

How do I put this contact in a QR code?

Copy the vCard text and paste it into the QR Code Generator. Scanning that code can offer to save the contact, depending on the phone.

Is the contact stored on the site?

No. The vCard is built locally and downloaded to your device. Closing the tab removes what you typed.
