Text Redundancy Finder
Detect n-word phrases that repeat in your text to spot redundancy, filler, and copy-paste duplication.
Find repeated phrases before you publish
Wordy drafts often repeat the same multi-word phrases-"in order to," "at this point in time," or copy-pasted boilerplate. This tool scans your text for n-word windows that appear more than once, so editors and SEO reviewers can tighten copy without reading every sentence twice. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
How phrase detection works
- Tokenize words (letters, digits, apostrophes).
- Slide a window from min words through max words across the token list.
- Count identical phrases and list those meeting your minimum occurrence threshold.
Pair this with Readability Score for grade-level metrics and Find and Replace Text to rewrite repeated wording in bulk.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does punctuation break a phrase?
Punctuation and whitespace separate tokens. "review, the proposal" counts as two tokens around the dash, so phrases align on whole words only.
Why set both min and max word counts?
Short windows catch filler pairs ("very very"); longer windows catch duplicated clauses. Scanning a range in one pass saves time versus running multiple fixed-length searches.
Is overlapping text counted separately?
Yes. Each sliding window position increments the phrase counter, matching how redundancy analyzers typically score repeated n-grams.
