Pallet Loading and Box Count

Shipping and warehouse teams need to know how many cartons fit on a pallet without exceeding stack height or weight limits. This calculator tests box orientations and reports the best layout.

How Box Placement Is Calculated

  • Each box side can be aligned to pallet width, length, or vertical height.
  • Six orientations are compared to maximize total box count.
  • Optional weight limits cap the result when each box has a known mass.
  • Utilization compares occupied box volume to total pallet load volume.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does pallet height include the pallet itself?

No. Enter the maximum load height only. The wooden pallet base is not counted in the stack height field.

Why does box orientation matter?

Rotating a box can fit more units per layer when one side matches the pallet footprint better.

Can I limit total pallet weight?

Yes. Enable weight limits and enter box weight plus the maximum load the pallet can carry.

What does utilization percentage mean?

It is the ratio of total box volume to pallet load volume. Higher utilization means less wasted space.
