What an Invoice Template Is

An invoice template is a ready-to-fill bill: your business details, the client, line items, tax, and a total, laid out so you can print it or save a PDF. This page opens with a filled US example, includes a blank template, and can switch to an India GST example with GSTIN, place of supply, and HSN/SAC fields. Choose classic, modern, or compact for the on-screen layout.

The invoice is built in your browser. Client names, amounts, and tax IDs are not uploaded.

How to Fill the Invoice Template

1. Start from the US example, the India GST example, or a blank template.
2. Replace the business and client fields. Each field has a short note about what belongs there.
3. Add line items with a description, quantity, and rate. Add an HSN or SAC code when you are using GST.
4. Pick a tax treatment: no tax, one sales-tax or VAT rate, same-state GST (CGST + SGST), or other-state GST (IGST).
5. Print the invoice or download a PDF. Both stay on your computer.

US Sales Tax and India GST

A single-rate tax fits US sales tax and many VAT bills. Enter the rate your customer’s location requires. The template applies that rate to the amount left after any discount.

India GST invoices need more than a percentage. Same-state supplies usually show CGST and SGST. Supplies to another state show IGST. The template also has rooms for both GSTINs, place of supply, and an HSN code for goods or an SAC code for services. Check the rate and code on the GST portal before you send a real bill. The sample GSTIN is only a shape example, not a registered number.
