Image Filters
Stack color adjustments, blur, flips and fisheye effects with a live preview and download your filtered image.
Apply Image Filters with a Live Preview
Image Filters lets you adjust colors, create a monochrome look, mirror a photo, or add a distortion without installing an image editor. Add filters to an ordered stack, fine-tune their strength, and download a PNG containing the visible result. A built-in landscape sample lets you explore the controls immediately.
Image processing happens locally in your browser. The tool accepts JPG, PNG and WebP files up to 20 MB and 16 million pixels. The output keeps the loaded image dimensions, and PNG export retains transparency where the effects preserve it.
How to Filter a Photo
- Choose a photo, or experiment with the sample landscape.
- Select a filter and choose Add filter. It immediately appears in the preview.
- Adjust the strength slider. Tint also provides a color picker.
- Add more effects in the order you want them applied, up to 12 filters.
- Remove individual filters or reset the stack, then download your edited PNG.
Color Adjustments and Distortions
| Filter | Effect | Suggested use |
|---|---|---|
| Brighten / Darken | Adds or subtracts brightness from color channels | Correct an image that feels too dim or bright |
| Lighten / Shade | Blends toward white or black | Create a pale or subdued image |
| Saturate / Desaturate | Increases or reduces color intensity | Make colors vivid or muted |
| Grayscale | Converts colors to luminance-based gray | Produce a monochrome image |
| Hue rotation | Rotates the color palette through a full turn | Explore alternate color schemes |
| Tint | Blends with your chosen color | Create a colored wash or a duotone effect after grayscale |
| Ordered dither | Uses a repeating black-and-white threshold pattern | Give a picture a retro print appearance |
| Invert | Replaces colors with their opposites | Create a negative effect |
| Blur | Softens image detail | Create a soft background |
| Horizontal / Vertical flip | Mirrors the image along one axis | Reverse an image composition |
| Fisheye | Applies a circular bulge around the image center | Create a playful lens distortion |
Why Filter Order Matters
Each effect receives the result of the one above it. For example, grayscale followed by a blue tint creates a blue monochrome image. Reversing those filters removes the tint in the final grayscale step. Start with small adjustments, inspect the preview, and add another filter only when it helps the image.
For a simple example, try desaturation at 40%, then a warm tint at 15%. For a graphic look, try grayscale followed by ordered dither. The dither pattern and fisheye distortion are creative effects, so inspect fine details before using the output at large sizes.
Blur affects the entire photo. It is not a reliable way to conceal sensitive information, and this tool does not selectively edit faces. Large images and long stacks can also take longer to process on mobile devices.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Image decoding, filtering and PNG export run inside your browser.
Can I combine multiple filters?
Yes. You can add up to 12 filters, including repeated effects. They run in the order shown from top to bottom.
Does the tool change my original photo?
No. It edits a browser copy. Downloading saves a separate PNG file.
What happens to animated or unsupported files?
The uploader accepts JPG, PNG and WebP. The downloaded result is a still PNG, so any animation in an accepted file is not preserved. Convert other formats before using this tool.
How do I undo a filter?
Choose Remove beside the filter. Reset filters removes the complete stack while retaining your selected image.
