Week of Month Finder
See which week of the month a date falls in using Sunday-start, Monday-start, 7-day block, or ISO partial-week conventions.
Which week of the month is this date?
Payroll, billing cycles, and editorial calendars disagree on what “week 2” means. Some teams count fixed 7-day blocks from the 1st; others restart weeks on Sunday or Monday. Pick a convention and this tool reports the week index, how many weeks exist in that month, and the weekday name for your date.
Conventions supported
- 7-day blocks, days 1–7 are week 1, 8–14 are week 2, and so on.
- Sunday-start weeks, week 1 contains the 1st; weeks run Sunday through Saturday.
- Monday-start weeks, week 1 contains the 1st; weeks run Monday through Sunday.
- ISO partial weeks, Monday-based weeks aligned with ISO 8601 partial weeks at month boundaries.
Pair with Find Week of Year for ISO year-week labels and Nth Weekday of Month when you need “third Tuesday” scheduling.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do two conventions disagree on the same date?
They use different week boundaries. A date near the 1st or last day of the month can fall in week 1 under one rule and week 2 under another.
Does this use ISO week-of-year?
Only the ISO partial-week option uses Monday-based weeks at month edges. For full ISO year/week labels, use the Week to Date or Find Week of Year tools.
Are holidays or time zones considered?
No. The tool uses plain local calendar dates without time-of-day or DST offsets.
