Search Unicode symbols and copy code points

The Unicode Character Finder lets you browse common arrows, math operators, currency signs, punctuation, and emoji, then copy the character, HTML entity, or JavaScript escape. Search by everyday name (heart, copyright), block name, or literal code point such as U+2665. Everything runs offline in the catalog bundled with the tool, no external Unicode API.

When to use this tool

  • Picking special characters for HTML, CSS, or React without memorizing code points.
  • Documenting APIs or UI copy that need precise symbols (±, →, ₹).
  • Quickly copying escapes for JavaScript strings or template literals.

To inspect arbitrary pasted text code point by code point, use the Unicode Inspector. To convert between code points and characters, try Convert Unicode to Code Points.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the catalog include every Unicode character?

No. It focuses on frequently used symbols developers and writers need. The full Unicode standard has more than 150,000 code points; this tool curates a practical subset for speed and offline use.

How do I search by code point?

Type formats like U+2192, 2192, or the character itself. Matching is case-insensitive on names and blocks.

Why do some emoji look different on my screen?

Emoji glyphs depend on your operating system and fonts. The underlying code point and escapes are still correct.
