Text Anonymizer

Replace emails, phone numbers, IPs, and credit-card-like patterns with placeholder tokens for safe demos and documentation.

Replace PII with safe placeholder tokens

Demos, blog posts, and support tickets often contain emails, phone numbers, IP addresses, or test card numbers. This anonymizer scans your text with pattern rules and swaps each match for a readable token such as [EMAIL] or [PHONE] so you can share samples without leaking real identifiers.

Supported pattern types

  • Email addresses (common mailbox formats)
  • North-American style phone numbers with optional country codes
  • IPv4 and condensed IPv6 literals
  • 13–19 digit card-like number groups (for synthetic test data)
  • US Social Security numbers in ###-##-#### form

Toggle each category independently. The counter shows how many replacements were made. For structured redaction of JSON fields, pair with Hide JSON Strings for structured payloads, or scrub free-form prose here first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this GDPR-grade anonymization?

No. Regex masking reduces accidental disclosure but cannot guarantee re-identification resistance. Treat output as demo-safe, not legal proof of anonymization.

Will every phone format match?

International formats vary widely. The phone rule targets common North American layouts; always review output before publishing.

Where is my text processed?

Entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to OnlineMiniTools servers.
