Estimate Ramadan dates and daily fasting times
This calendar finds the Ramadan that starts during a Gregorian year, then lists Suhoor and Iftar for each day in a city you choose. The month boundaries come from the tabular Islamic civil calendar, the arithmetic calendar used for planning when an official moon sighting has not been announced. Expect the first or last day to differ by a day or two from a local announcement.
How the dates and times are calculated
January 1 of the selected year is converted to a Hijri date. If that date is already in Ramadan or later, the Ramadan that starts in the selected Gregorian year belongs to the next Hijri year. Otherwise it belongs to the current Hijri year. Ramadan is the ninth Hijri month and is 30 days in this tabular cycle for the years this tool highlights by default.
Suhoor ends at Fajr and Iftar is Maghrib. Both come from standard solar calculations for the city's latitude and longitude. The Fajr angle changes how far the sun is below the horizon at dawn. 18 degrees matches a common Muslim World League setting. Changing the angle moves the Suhoor column and the fasting length. It does not move the calendar dates.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the official start of Ramadan?
No. Official dates follow moon sighting or a national calendar such as Umm al-Qura. This page uses the tabular Islamic calendar so you can plan before an announcement, and it says so on the form.
Why does 2026 start on February 18?
In the tabular calendar, 1 Ramadan 1447 AH falls on February 18, 2026, and the month runs 30 days through March 19, 2026. A local sighting could shift that window.
Which clock is used for Suhoor and Iftar?
Times are shown in the time zone that contains the selected city, on a 24-hour clock. Mecca uses Asia/Riyadh. London uses Europe/London, including the daylight-saving offset in effect on that date.
What does the fasting length mean?
It is the time from Fajr to Maghrib on that row, rounded to the nearest minute. A longer Fajr angle usually makes dawn earlier and the fast longer.
Can I calculate a year before 1900?
The year field accepts 1900 through 2100. Dates outside that range are rejected so the solar time library stays inside a well-tested window.
