Sign PDF files in your browser without uploading them

This Sign PDF tool embeds a visual signature on any page of a PDF document entirely in your browser. Draw with a mouse or trackpad, type your name in an italic style, or upload a PNG/JPG signature image, then click the live page preview to place it and download a signed copy. Your PDF and signature never leave your device, ideal for NDAs, offer letters, consent forms, and quick e-sign workflows that do not require a certified digital certificate.

How placement works

  1. Upload a PDF (up to 50 MB, unlocked).
  2. Create a signature using draw, type, or image upload.
  3. Pick the target page (defaults to the last page).
  4. Click the preview to set the anchor point and adjust width with the slider.
  5. Download the signed PDF with the image stamped on the page.

This is a visual signature (image overlay), not a PKCS#7 digital signature. To verify existing digital signatures, use the PDF Signature Checker. To rotate pages before signing, try the PDF Rotator.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. Parsing, preview rendering, and signing run locally with pdf-lib and PDF.js. Nothing is transmitted to OnlineMiniTools servers.

Can I sign password-protected PDFs?

No. Encrypted PDFs must be unlocked first. The tool rejects password-protected files to avoid partial or misleading output.

What image format works best for uploaded signatures?

PNG with a transparent background keeps the page visible around the ink. JPG works but may show a white box around the signature.

Does this create a legally binding digital signature?

It embeds a picture of your signature. Legal validity depends on jurisdiction and process. For qualified electronic signatures you need a certificate-backed signing service.
