SAML Metadata Parser
Parse SAML entity metadata and list SSO endpoints, certificates, bindings, and entity IDs.
Parse SAML 2.0 entity metadata
SAML metadata is XML that describes a federation participant: its entityID,
supported bindings, SSO and SLO endpoints, assertion consumer services, and X.509 certificates for signature
verification. IdPs publish IDPSSODescriptor blocks; service providers publish
SPSSODescriptor blocks with ACS URLs.
Paste a full EntityDescriptor document (or a federation export) to list endpoints and signing
certificates in tables. Parsing runs in your browser with the DOM API, metadata is not uploaded. Pair this with
SAML IdP Metadata Builder,
SAML SP Metadata Builder, and
SAML Assertion Inspector
when wiring a new integration.
Typical workflow
- Download metadata from your IdP or SP (often a
.xmlURL). - Paste the XML and confirm
entityID, SSO URL, and certificate rows. - Copy endpoint URLs into your SP or IdP configuration UI.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this validate XML signatures on metadata?
No. It only parses structure. Signed metadata still needs trust anchors and signature verification in your federation software.
Which descriptor types are listed?
Common roles such as IdP, SP, authentication authority, and attribute authority descriptors are scanned
for SSO, SLO, ACS, and KeyDescriptor certificates.
Is metadata sent to a server?
No. All parsing happens locally in your browser.
