What Is Angular Frequency?
Angular frequency \(\omega\) measures how quickly a system oscillates or rotates, in radians per second. It appears throughout physics and engineering whenever sine waves, springs, pendulums, or AC circuits are analyzed.
Relationships Between f, omega, and T
$$ \omega = 2\pi f \qquad T = \frac{1}{f} \qquad \omega = \frac{2\pi}{T} $$\(f\) is ordinary frequency in hertz (cycles per second) and \(T\) is the period in seconds. All three describe the same motion from different viewpoints. Knowing any one value determines the other two.
Example: 60 Hz mains power has \(\omega = 377\) rad/s and \(T = 0.0167\) s per cycle.

Frequency counts cycles per second. Angular frequency counts radians per second. They differ by a factor of 2 pi.

Many formulas, such as x equals A sine omega t, are simpler with omega because the argument of sine must be in radians.
Can period and frequency be zero?
No. Both require a repeating motion. Zero frequency would mean no oscillation, and zero period is undefined.

How do I convert RPM to angular frequency?
